Annie Lawrinson is an artist from Perth, Western Australia.

Since she was a child, she has been fascinated by older people, and started sketching and painting them from an early age.

When she was 15, her father was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease. He moved into residential care just after her 18th birthday.

As a way of coping with what was happening to her Dad, she threw herself into her painting.

Now, she feels she has a special connection with older people, especially those in care, and loves showing people’s souls through her portraits.
